Scheduler user password change

Hi ,

We have scheduler user for launching scheduled jobs but we have not saved scheduler user password in password database  and now as nobody is aware of scheduler user password so we are unable to create new scheduled job with that user.so we dont have any option now and we need to change the password.So my question is what precaution we need to take while changing the password or will it affect already running jobs under that user? Please provide the steps
