utility to find out details of an array

Hi,

Request you to please let me know which utility I can use to see the below for an array for a measure DB.

  1. find out actual vs logical populated cells in a array
  2. sparsity of an array

Basically I want to know details of an array if it is sparse , how much is logically and actual populated
