What are ess0000xx.pag files for?

Hello,

Yesterday, we added disk space to our Essbase server. The infrastructure team are concerned about the pag files. Some of them have datestamps a month old.

My understanding is, pag files is how Essbase stores the data, and this is an indication of an application that the business is using. The date stamp may be the last time the data block was updated in the file.

So what are pag files used for, and what determines the date stamp of the file? Is an old timestamp an abandoned file from a failed process?

Thank you, Kevin
