I'm new to RAC DB

I have just created a two-node RAC db , and I was testing the
scenarios of shutting down one node and expecting the access to the database to
be uninterrupted.

I have a SQLDeveloper session open prior to shutting down
the current hosting node. After shutting down the current hosting node, I tried
to run a command in the session opened, I got “Your database connection has
been reset. Any pending transactions or session state has been lost”. After
clicking OK, the query run and gave me result.

Is this something normal? I was expecting the downing of one
