Siebel user SPF file size increased to GB

We observed that user SPF file has increased size upto 455 GB, is there any parameter to control the size of user preference file in siebel and also would like to know the reason of the increase in size, normally we see SPF files only in MB or KB. please help us understanding if anybody is aware of such issues.
