P4312 - Receipt order to different business unit and location

Hi,

I would like to ask if it is possible to receive the item to a different business unit (branch/plant) and location? I have tried to do it by receiving the item through P4312 and modify the business unit from the grid but not able to see the items received in the ledger. What could be the possible impact of this? Please advise.
