Customers Form: Searching Account Sites - Show Related Contact Sites Box

I reviewed the note "A Customer Site Address Is Missing In The Customer Account Sites Screen (Doc ID 1642358.1)"  I am confused what the intention is of "Show Related Contact Sites" check box when you search for account sites.

We are doing testing in preparation for an upgrade from 11.5.10 to 12.2.6.

We have an account with a corporate office address.  It has always been an account address for this particular customer.   I can see it is an Account Site Address in 11.5.10 in Customers Standard.  In 12.2.6, in our upgraded testing instance, I have to check the box "Show Related Contact Sites" box in order to see this site.
