Link RMA return line with RMA repair line

Does anyone have a good way to link a RMA return line with an RMA repair line? Our business would like to be able to capture timestamps within our internal processes on when a RMA is delivered...when a RMA repair begins...when that repaired unit is shipped out the door.

Things along those lines.
