Missing ADJ period in Budget Calendar, what is the impact?

Dear Oracle,

I would like to know what is the impact if our Budget Calendar did not have ADJ period?

Currently our 2017 Budget calendar start from JAN-17 up to DEC-17 while our GL Calendar start from JAN-17 up to ADJ-17.

So, what is the impact with GL Closing and upload budget for 2018?

Do we need to create ADJ-17 for Budget Calendar? If yes, where to?

If no, can we balance it ADJ-17 for Budget to JAN-18 in GL?

I really need enlightment on this issue.
