OPM cost simulation not for accounting purpose but cost comparison

Currently we are using PMAC cost type, we have defined STD cost type,costing validation as well. Please suggest us whether cost simulation it is feasible or not in opm environment? if yes then let me know what all setups required to achieve this.

Basically we want to achieve "what if analysis" in context of costing in opm with same ledger, same OU with same organization.
