ORAchk 12.2.0.1.4 just doesn't work without GI/clusterware

Have been testing with the new ORAchk 12.2.0.1.4 and it just doesn't seem to recognize the databases when not using Grid Infrastructure/clusterware.

 

The situation is pretty typical: single-instance standalone database running on Oracle Linux servers.  No RAC, no GI install (and hence no clusterware).   Basically a pretty standard and basic database installation.

 

But ORAchk 12.2.0.1.4 always fails to recognize the running databases.  From the log file always reports something similar to:

 

2017-12-18 15:36:53,565 - INFO - __main__[(discover_env)(start_discovery)(13510)] - Database instance ORCL appears to be down. Skipping database related audit cheks.

 

(Minor point: spelling mistake in the word "cheks" - there are actually numerous spelling mistakes
