Why proj PR being submitted with past closed period expenditure item date?

Dear Experts,

We have a query regarding expenditure item date project requisition in procurement.

Why Project PR is submitting successfully even if we enter a past closed status period proj expenditure item date ?

Please advise how to control this?

We did analyse the profile PA: Validate Expenditure Item Date for Open Period, but this is limited to check whether Exp item date is in Open or Future PA or PA GL period status. But not for the above mentioned problem (Past closed periods).

Please advise if any other profiles or other ways to achieve this requirement.
