Can we get more than 66K records by using BI publisher reports in excel output format ?

Hi Team, We have a custom report developed based on excel template. When the report gets completed and user try to open it, it doesn't get open. When we checked this issue, we observed that the output (.xls)version is 97-2003. And also we found an note from Oracle document (https://docs.oracle.com/html/E22254_03/create_excel_tmpl.htm) that states that maximum row limit for version 97-2003 is 65,536 rows.(in our case there are more than 68,000 rows fetched) We would like to know, weather we can get more than 66K records by using BI publisher reports in excel output format.
