Requisition Approval Workflow Error

We are finding during our image update testing that if a requisitioner does not have a first level approver defined on the Workflow tab on their profile, the approval workflow errors and will not process. See attached User Profile, Monitor Approvals information, and our Approval Workflow Process set up.
