Production and Staging using different database edition

Hi all,

I'm planning to setup development database environment as below ;

Dev machine

- Oracle 12c Standard Edition Release 12.1.0.1.0 - 64bit

Currently Prod box running on Oracle 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.1.0 - 64bit . It will be going monthly restoration task via RMAN for that DEV database.

Can we have that such environment in place ?
