AIS server configuration recommendations

As per few documents in oracle support, I found that AIS and JAS has 1 on 1 relationship. So is it mandatory to have a separate AIS server for each pathcodes ? Or is it just a recommendation, but we can also use the same AIS for all pathcodes.

Also, for UXOne, it is recommended to have a dedicated AIS server, is it only for performance, or there is any restrictions for this ?
