R12.1.3 upgrade database from 10.2.0.5 to 11.2.0.4 - revert CLOB to LONG

We are running R12.1.3 on 64bit SLES11. Upgraded database from 10.2.0.5 to 11.2.0.4. Upgrade went fine and system running fine. As part of the post-upgrade steps in the db upgrade guide, there was an optional step to migrate long data types to CLOB. Since it  was not mentioned anywhere (either in the Interop guide or in the upgrade guide) whether this step can be run for Ebiz or not, we went ahead and ran it. However this is creating some signal 11 errors in certain areas like Oracle Alerts, which have not gone despite applying patches 13728376 and 9908378.

So trying to find how we can "recover" from this...
