Can Excel to CI be used to update already existing items, and insert new data such as change supplie

We are currently looking to use Excel to Ci for item updates and maintenance - price changes, supplier changes, any item info changes we could make.  Is the Excel to CI utility able to be used for updates or just for new item information only?  We are on PS 9.2 through Image 16 with some through 22.  Currently tools 8.55.06
