Best Practice for Archiving R12.2.4 EBS database data

We have  EBS (R12.2.4) database of size   around 5 TB hence we  a want to reduce the database foot print size  by  Archiving and purging the   data   hence can  any one please suggest best practices  for archiving data and purging   the data from oracle seeded table and custome table .
