1099 Question

Hey,

I have electronically submitted my 1099 forms to the IRS. Today they came back with the following message:

This has not happened in prior years. I have applied the new 1099 ESU to the production environment and am wondering what could be wrong. When comparing the previous years 1099 text file I noticed that there were K values towards the bottom of IRSTAX.txt.

Example

2016:

B2016

xxxxx

C00000007

xxxx

F0000000

2017:

B2017

xxxxx

C00000007

xxxx

K0000001

F0000000

If I were to remove the K values from IRSTAX.txt then resubmit the text file back to the IRS, would that work or be a waste of time?
