Employee records with Duplicate SSN

Hi,

One of the employee was terminated in the year 2015 and joined back in the year 2017. There are two different employee numbers with same SSN/Tax id were created on his name.

But when i try to replicate the same scenario ( Update pay status to 'T' and add another record with same tax id), i am getting an error "SSN or Other Employee No. Already Exists"

Could you pls let me know how to rehire the the employee with same tax id and create new employee number.
