Is Item Branch "Item Flash Message" (F4102.IFLA) used for anything and how is it populated?

Hi all,

Does anyone know how the Item Flash Message at Item Branch level is used and populated, please?

I've had a good search through KM and source code (E9.1) and the only time I can see it being used is during P4101 Add/Copy and the subsequent creation of the F4102 based on the F4101 being created/copied. Changes to the Item Flash Message via P4101, R48181 & R30510 only impact the F4101-level Item Flash Message.

Reason for asking is that one of my customers has the F4102-level Item Flash Message populated on thousands of items, but not at the F4101-level for these items. The only thing I can think that is happening is that items were copied (whilst F4101.IFLA was populated) and then the P4101 was updated and the Flash message cleared.
