Same item Twice in BOM for same op seq not possible

Hi,

We would like to have the same item 2 times in the BOM for the same operation seq. But Oracle ebs Discrete Manufacturing BOM module does not allow this. We are in R12.1.3 and we get an error message when we try to do so. See attached.

Why do we want to do so?

We are producing plastic pipes and they have different layers when we are coating the pipes. We have an MES interface with Oracle ebs so we get signals from production line about component usage. Since we are putting different layerson the pipe we get different measurements and this is handled in MES having twice the item in BOM. Since BOM's are coming from Oracle ebs we would need to reflect this in our setup meaning having same item twice.
