Grouping Transaction Type Information DFF used for?

Hi All,

We supposed to get the reports(from 3 rd party system) in 5 different formats of templates.

In Oracle                 3 rd party system

                               report template

Transaction type1 - X1

Transaction type2 - X2

Transaction type3 - X1

Transaction type4 - X3

Transaction type5 - X1

Transaction type6 - X3

Transaction type7 - X2

Transaction type8 - X1

to achieve this is there any seeded feature in Oracle to group the transaction types.

Also why "Grouping Transaction Type Information" seeded DFF is used for? Can I use that feature for my purpose?
