Future Period change and the impact

Hi

Relatively new to Oracle EBS and have a question that you may be able to help me with.

When we defined out books we set the Future Period to 1 period however the impact on AP entering invoices was not appreciated.  We now have an issue where AP want to enter invoices for April 18 but cannot as we only have 1 future period allowed (they don't want to have to keep invoices until the period is open and then enter them).

A request has been made to extend this to 3 future periods - my question is what would this impact apart form AP and the GL.  My understanding of the impact is that AP would be able to enter invoices but not pay them which is fine and in the GL unless the period is opened any journals entered would have a status of 'unposted' until the concurrent request is run to change the Future Entry to Open.
