Group Parties in the TCA

I am looking for information on how 'Group' parties are supported in the TCA - creating them, viewing them, managing them and using them. There seems to be very little information on this in the various TCA guides that I have looked at so far. The only reference I could find is in the TCA Technical implementation guide (Create Group API). I appreciate anyone who could point me in the right direction to get to know more about this.
