DNS SRV Lookups on Peer interface

Hello,

We have a peered link to a vendor and we're being asked to route traffic via SRV records as opposed to static IP addresses.  It's our understanding that our Peer Network Interface should have the DNS servers defined (the traffic egresses our environment to them).  In our case, our DNS servers aren't reachable via this interface.  What are our options to leverage internal DNS resources for lookups but route the traffic out the outside peer interfaces?  Would  host-routes for our DNS Servers to our internal interfaces accomplish this?
