Lock data in Essbase to prevent changes

Hi everyone,

A client keeps asking me if it is possible to lock certain periods in Essbase to prevent data on those periods from being altered (i.e. being recalculated, erased or even overwritten with accidental data loads).

This client has being using HFM for quite a long time and HFM actually lets you lock data from past periods so it's never altered again. Now they are also using Planning and they are kind of deceived there seemingly isn't the same functionality in Planning/Essbase. Of course you can open and close periods in Planning, and of course you can freeze data using a workflow in Planning, but from my experience that only prevents users to alter data; even in those cases it is still possible to recalculate, delete, or reload data in Essbase.
