What could cause odd Forms behavior after upgrading to desktop Java Version 8 Update 162 (build 1.8.

Hello,

We recently rolled out Java Version 8 Update 162 (build 1.8.0_162-b12) and users started experiencing odd behavior in Oracle eBusiness Forms.

The problems occur when working across Oracle Forms and other applications like Word, Excel, Note Pad, or anything.  It's as if Oracle Forms doesn't know the user has returned and is active in the Form.

Steps to recreate problem:

(1) Open/navigate in Forms.

(2) Open/navigate in another application (like note pad).

(3) Return to Forms and place cursor directly into an updateable, editable field where there are multiple rows (like Oracle Cycle Count Entries). Enter data in a single field/column and arrow down to the next row and enter data.  Oracle is not recognizing the cursor is on a new row.  It will display row 1/? in the lower left corner when the active cursor is at row 2.  This is causing inaccurate data to be submitted to the database.

Howdy, Stranger!
