How to externally authenticate an Oracle user using AD:

I am trying to allow users with Windows clients to connect to Oracle databases on a Linux (Exadata) machine to sign on using their Active Directory user names without having to enter a password.

Databases are 11g - latest patches

Windows 10 clients

The end goal is to set it up so that if their AD account is disabled, their Oracle account won't work either.

I've been trying to follow this article:

But it seems to assume the databases are on a Windows box as well.
