WCS Integration with External Systems

Hi,

I've got few questions that I am looking forward to hear answers from experienced and technology passionate people in this forum.

- What version of WCS do you consider to be the most stable? Would be the latest release available a good candidate to upgrade to / start a new project?

- Where there are external systems that need to be integrated into the WCS solution, what would be the best practices you recommend to achieve the use case? Imagine that there are API's available to communicate with the external system, would it then make sense to build consuming assets that feed on the existing API's and have the templates for such assets based on the API's responses?
