Is it possible to pass an auto-sequenced line item field to an auto-created BP?

The need here is to place an auto-sequence field on a detail form line item and then auto-create a different record-to-record BP with the auto-sequenced detail form field carried over to the new BP’s detail form. I’m requesting advice on any past experience with this issue.

The use case is as follows.

• On the source BP, I need a SYS Auto Sequence to identify line items in the format of “000x.”
• This source BP will auto-create another BP (with fewer fields for the contractor) in which I need the SYS Auto Sequence number to carry over.
• SYS Auto Sequence DE’s do not update until the record is committed and the update is not visible to the user until the BP record is opened again.
