How to keep points and reputation when email changes?

Hello,

I will be changing my employer soon and after some research I've found older threads on the forum saying that the reputation points will be lost if I change the email address of my account.

Is this still true?

This account I am posting from is currently registered to my current employer's email which I won't be able to use when I move to the new one, and I would like to preserve the points I've earned and not go from the 0 again.

Was this resolved, is it possible to move the points to a new email now?
