add exadata storage expansion unit to platinum gateway

We have two Exadata Storage Expansion cabinets, each being added to a different M7 SuperCluster rack. The original racks are already configured in the Gateway. Has anyone had any experience in adding an storage expansion unit? Is an actual re-implementation SR required?
