Rebuildables - subinventory transfer

On rebuildables. We have items tagged as rebuildables but are sitting on costed subinventory. As per documentation, rebuildables must be sitting on expense subinventory. What is the standard process on shifting/transferring these items from costed subinventory to expense subinventory without generating dummy transactions?
