How to bypass approval process in service contract

Hi All,

We want to Create contract in ENTERED status using API and then want to move to Active Status.

How to change the status of the contract from ENTERED to ACTIVE using interface. As there is no API to update the contract header /Line status we can submit the contract for approval process.

But then we want to Auto Approve the contracts so that no manual intervention needed for approving the same.

Can anyone please let me know how to achieve this scenario without customizing workflow.
