Is the term taxable amount differs in JDE accounts payable ?

General store invoice for auto spares has taxable amount and gross as same (Price of autospare is taxable amount less tax amount= total amount ),but when it comes to JDE  taxable amount is the one (Gross-Tax amount= Taxable amount) .
