The GL Analyzer reports error with open subledger periods.

My General Ledger Analyzer reports that subledger period statuses tested are not all closed for this GL period.  I queried all prior periods, and can't find where the Projects Subledger Accounting Period has ever been closed. I was curious if this would be a "known" error due to the fact that we do not have the PA: Enable Enhanced Period Processing  profile value enabled? If not, how does one go about closing these periods?
