optimization of disk i/o

Looking for  approach/best practice to improve the  disk i/o  in order  to improve the  overall Oracle EBS database performance  when high  intensive  read /write sql query  is running or any process like when RMAN backup is running

Currently  prod oracle EBS database data file is  placed on single NFS mount point   for Data ,redo,arch and oracle home , the  size  of database is 6tb . so looking into this configuration  can you please suggest best option  to re architect  the  current configuration  for   achieving the best optimization of  disk i/o and load balancing .

EBS database version (11.2.0.4) single node
