Siebel IP2017 - AI Installation Error without invPtrLoc parameter.

Hi Team,

In process of setting up, Siebel IP2017 Enviroment in multi server installation (1- application, 1 - AI (Webserver) & 1  DB server)

On AI Server:

Case 1: Tried to install AI in new server with command: ./runInstaller.sh  it was not allow to perform installation, stating JAVA base error and looking for inventory details.

Case 2: Tried, install DB client which gives OraInventory location, then try to install with command:/runInstaller.sh -invPtrLoc /home/siebel/oraInst.loc , able to install successfully without any issue.

Now, query is:

1) Do we required to install Oracle DB Client even on AI New Server?

2) Is any other method to install without Inventory details.
