Work Order Component Pick Release

There is a new option on the Work Order Component Pick Release, which says Auto Request Material with an option to pick yes or no.

I understand what happens when you select Yes, but can you explain to me the logic of what happens if that says No. I cannot find any documentation on this.

We always have material lines on work orders with Auto Request Material set to No, and the user has to "manually" request the items.
