Appraisal stuck in Pending Approval because workflow was cancelled

We have an appraisal that was submitted for an employee, but before it was approved by HR an admin user incorrectly cancelled the workflow from the status monitor.  So now the appraisal is stuck in the pending approval status.  Is there any way to revive the approval workflow or recreate it?  This is for a standard appraisal and we are in version 12.2.
