OL7.9 yum repolist ... Could not determine what version of Red Hat Linux you are running

Dear Support,

Am to patch my OEL server but am getting the below error.

yum repolist

Loaded plugins: rhnplugin, security

RPM error.  The message was:

Could not determine what version of Red Hat Linux you are running.

If you get this error, try running

                rpm --rebuilddb

i have tried rebuild but still it is not giving me a solution.
