Very Large IP 17 Installation

Wanted to pass along information about a very large IP 17 installation.  It took us a while since this was the first one we did that was this large and had all these advanced features.  Happy to report everything is working great.

Here are the details of our environment:

  • 12 application servers
  • 2 AI servers
  • Separate gateway.  When 18.5 comes we will cluster the gateway.
  • AI server load balanced by F5.  F5 also provides HTTPS.
  • AI servers have HTTPS disabled.  AI provided HTTPS requires too much CPU and F5 does a better job.  Instructions to disable worked fine for a single server environment but one additional step was needed to disable for multi server environment.
