Reflecting Credit for Warranty in Job History

Is it possible to update the cost of a work order with a manual entry rather than thru the invoice or issue process?  We had a $100k component fail (one brand) and we replaced it with another brand.  Eventually, we received credit for the original component, pro-rata on its life.

Suggestions?
