How to Make Carry Forward balance to Zero

Hi

We have performed the Carrying Forward Year-End Encumbrance. System has forwarded the before year balance to next year (2017 to 2018). Opening balance also showing properly in 2018.

Now business thinking if we carry forward the encumbrance balance 2017 balance will transfer to 2018 and 2017 balance will become zero.

Before Encumbrance transfer closing balance in 2017 is 1000

After Encumbrance transfer in 2018 opening balance is 1000 and closing balance in 2017 is 0

Please advise if any one have information on this carry forward.
