PO Quote supplier search

When entering a quote, our users want to request a quote from any supplier that has supplied us with that item in the past.  So they enter the detail line, row exit to Quote Suppliers.  But if they exit to Supplier Analysis, the supplier is a required field.  Is there any other way to search for any suppliers for that item where the item (and maybe the branch) are all that are required?  I'm thinking Item Supplier would be good as a row exit there...is there any existing way?  We are in 9.2
