Setting specific value for Payroll Journal Entry Document Company

We need the Document Company value on the payroll journal entry to be a specific value.  Our understanding is the Document Company value is based on the first record of the payroll journal entry for each document type.  I understand JDE does not provide functionality to specify a value.  I'm hoping another JDE client has the same issue and has found a creative solution.  Our current solution is to download the journal created during the payroll process.  Delete the journal in JDE, add a first record to each document type with the correct company value and then upload the info
