Asset Management - Mass Book Change to UsefulLife and ProfileIDs

We are looking to update over 1000 assets - the update is to lengthen the useful life. What is the most effective way of completing this task?

So far we've considered

1)Using the Mass Transaction tool (BKS - Asset Book Change). Instead of the actual tool/we'll use the SQL behind it

Selection criteria - BU, Asset Book Name, Asset ID

User entered value - BU, UsefulLife, ProfileID *

*new profile IDs will be created using the Excel to CI Asset profile template

The problem is that we have multiple life/profile ids within a BU.Thus requiring multiple SQLs. Has anyone been able to do an upload to accomplish or any other options?
