Question regarding soa.delete_instances min_creation_date and max_creation_date

We have SOA 11.1.1.7.

We have been asked to run soa.delete_instances procedure.

As we have looked into this procedure I see that you enter a min_creation_date, and max_creation_date.

As we are DBA and we have to decide for the days, can someone explain to us what exactly we loose for dropping old instances i.e. 6 months ago.

What exactly we will not be able to see after running this procedure?
